Beforehand we cut put all the fun stuff……carbs and desserts…….on the trip we don’t even think about it. My husband likes to diet and loses five pounds before we go……then we eat everything….Everything in moderation. I always look for a gym….but I prefer to be outside….I’ll map out a route for a jog to see the town and the city….but I love a good hotel gym. How do you stay fit and trim in your travels - what do you eat, and how do you exercise? We always buy Christmas ornaments, even if it’s in the middle of summer…….it’s a trip down memory lane. The resort town was Monteverdi…….it was the coolest place. We had an interpreter with us….the farmer was very humble, and apparently The New York Times had found and discovered him…we were glad to have tasted it too. They let us do some hands-on things – the farmer wanted us to have a full experience….we made ricotta… My husband and I went with our two best friends, The Bakers……Jeff Baker even milked a goat. My favorite was late 2019 in Italy….we spent a few days in Rome and then going through Tuscany – we visited olive vineyards and went to the most amazing farm where the owner has goats and sheep and makes pecorino cheese – it was such an adventure. What hotel loyalty programs do you belong to? There’s no reception and you have to be in the moment and it’s beautiful. You can’t be on your phone or texting or surfing the web.
